Argument Within

This sculpture grew through a string of intuitive decisions - each twisting shape placed as a reaction to the last, watching it morph from one thing to another, and even now, it looks as though it’s still doing it.
Sometimes a sculpture starts out with a narrative. Other times they appear from working intuitively. This one is the latter, and that’s how I arrived at the title.
It points to a familiar behavior, especially in me: the multi-dimensional push and pull between instinct and reason, feeling like a tangled mess and struggling to nd resolution within avast eld of context.
